A scenebuild artwork made entirely by me based on the Half-Life 2 beta seen in the 2003 leak and the Raising the Bar book.
The main 3d scene itself was made in gmod on the source engine, multiple different images were taken and then screened together on photoshop to add effects like lightbounce, ambient lighting and bloom.
Depth of Field was made using a ZDepth layer where the fog start value was above the fog end value, inverting the fog and making things further away a darker shade of white until it goes black. This was then masked on top of the main layer (Which was flattened and then duplicated) where photoshop will then use the ZDepth layer to determine the depth of the image.
Explosion effects were added by disabling lights in the scene, making the sky white and then using that as a mask so that photoshop could identify every that was black as a prop and everything that is white as a background.
